An email newsletter about European soccer for the exceptionally casual fan, delivered to your inbox every Friday and Monday

Why did I start this newsletter? For a couple of friends who have expressed frustration with how challenging it is for them to understand and follow European soccer from the US. Between all of the leagues and competitions, fragmented rights across various broadcasters, and the (understandable) lack of coverage from the ESPNs of the world, it’s easy to give up on trying to become a fan. ‘5 Minute FC’ is just an iteration of what I already do for a few of my friends, which is texting them each weekend about what games to watch and why to watch them.

What should you expect as a subscriber? I’ll send you an email every Friday with the most compelling matches being played that weekend, the players to keep an eye on, and any other interesting storylines I think are worth following. Then, on Monday, I’ll send you another email with the key results coming out of the weekend of play and highlights of the best goals. The emails will be very short - hence the name of the newsletter - and I’ll probably focus primarily on the Premier League (the most popular league in Europe) and major clubs in the other top leagues like FC Barcelona (they are my club, and yes, I will be biased). I’ll also cover the Champions League once it gets started in the fall.

What should you *not* expect as a subscriber? Analysis, groundbreaking or otherwise, or anything even remotely in the weeds. This is very much a side project for me, so it will be intentionally casual. That said, all feedback is welcome and encouraged.
